I've been exploring options for greener diapering, but for some families, disposables continue to be the best option. So I was happy to see Huggies taking some steps toward reducing the environmental impact of disposable diapers with their Pure and Natural Diapers.
According to the company, Huggies Pure and Natural Diapers:
- Offer the same leakage protection as other Huggies diapers
- Have organic cotton in the outer cover
- Have aloe and vitamin E in the inner liner
- Are hypoallergenic and fragrance free
- Use less ink than other Huggies Supreme diapers
I'd love to see Huggies include organic cotton on the inside of the diaper (where it would touch baby) and perhaps eliminate the ink on the outside of the diaper altogether. (Although, with 2 in diapers I do appreciate when the size is clearly marked on the diaper!) I'm hoping that Huggies continues to look for ways to include increased amounts of recycled and natural materials in both their products and packaging.
